Sony Ericsson Philippines will be named Sony Mobile Communications
After Sony acquired the share of Ericsson, they introduced in International CES 2012 their new handset Xperia S, and Sony announced that Sony Ericsson would be known as Sony Mobile Communications, making the mobile handset business a wholly owned by Sony. According to Yuga Tech, one of the executive from Sony Ericsson Philippines gave possible scenarios that the company will eventually be dissolved and Sony Philippines will take over the mobile phone brand.
Sony Ericsson Philippines employees was invited to move and work for Sony Philippines under the mobile phone department but they’re not sure if those in high positions like executives of Sony Ericsson will also join the Sony Philippines under different department.
Sony called their new Xperia S a next generation smartphone. This Xperia S has a big Sony logo on it without the Ericsson and this smartphone will be launched in the Philippines by Q2 of 2012 between April to June.
