Xperia GX and Xperia SX, Sony’s first LTE smartphone officially announced

Phone

Have you heard of the rumor about Sony Lt26i “Hayabusa“? Another Xperia smartphone running an Android OS that was spreading online lately. To put and end to all rumors and speculation, Sony officially announced their two new smartphone, Xperia GX and Xperia SX. This is the company’s first LTE capable smartphones designed for Japanese Market only. Xperia GX has a curve back design like my favorite Xperia Arc is also looking great.

Both smartphone has a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor. Quad core processor will make the phone more expensive while 1.5GHz dual-core  is more than enough to run different apps, do multi-tasking and fast internet browsing experience. Featuring 4.6-inch Reality Display with HD resolution of  1280 x 720 (319 ppi)along with 13-megapixel Exmor R camera with “stacked” technology for low-light performance. Android 4.0 ICS is already installed to this phone, internal memory is 16GB and 1,700mAh battery.

Xperia SX, is the world’s lightest LTE capable handset, weighing in 100g. It has a smaller screen of 3.7-inch Reality Display with a resolution of 960 x 540 (298 ppi), 8-megapixel Exmor R camera, 8GB internal memory and also has a pre-installed Android 4.0 ICS. Both phone also has a built-in infrared, mobile wallet and mobile TV.

Xperia GX and SX will be release in Japan this summer, probably end of May or beginning of June but it will be rolling out in international market in July.

Sony Launched their first Ultrabook, VAIO T13 and T11

Notebook and Tablet

Sony has officially launched their first Ultrabooks, VAIO T13 and T11. Two ultra portable laptop with 11-inch and 13-inch HD LED display. Sony VAIO T series has the same design to VAIO Z series ultraportable that was released last year. The Ultrabooks has a sleek magnesium and aluminum body that is 17.8mm thick, weighing 1.6kg for 13-inch version  and currently packed with a 2nd-gen Intel Core i3-2367M Sandy Bridge processor. There must be a good reason why Sony didn’t use the 3rd-gen Intel Ivy Bridge processor, and I think  that Sandy Bridge has a low power consumption, other says that it is a ultra-low voltage processor. Sony also promised a 9 hours of battery life.  An Ultrabook should be thin and light laptop, with high-end specification the offers great performance like multi-tasking and has long battery life.

Sony VAIO T13 has a hybrid storage option, 320GB HDD and 32GB SSD for fast start-up and instant-on for quickly resuming your computing from sleep mode. The pricing is yet to be announce but it is set to release next month.
